UK makes changes to Control Orders

The government announced changes to terrorism control orders, replacing them with what it described as 'significantly increased resources for surveillance'. Critics fear the control orders will remain in all but name.

For the three suspected terrorists currently under control orders in the UK, it is highly unlikely any change to their circumstances will be granted until new legislation is created — which is at least a year away.
